Using Motorola Razr Power Cord With 540TM

I have a power cord that came with a Motorola Razr cell phone. The end of the cord that plugs into the device is an exact fit for the 540 TM. Output for the cord is 5 volts. Use of this power cord could sometimes be a more convenient way to charge the 540, or power it while fiddling with it, than to use the USB port on my notebook. Is there any reason why this would be a bad idea?

I've used various Razr and Raxr2 charges with all my Tomtom's over the years, and had no problem.

Note that it won't work backwards, Moto put a specific resistance on the data pins to identify their own brand chargers. A Tomtom charger won't charge a moto.
