Updating POI set

I have downloaded some POI sets (McDonald's, Quizno's etc.) and I've noticed that these sets are incomplete. Is there a way to update these sets?
I'm completely new to this but fortunately not stupid, so if there is a method for doing this where might I find it?

If there are small amount of POIs missing, then you can try this:

Or if we need a big update, give us your location to update the POI file.
