Today, I was forced to abandon the TomTomGo app on my Android Smartphone - Samsung.

Early May, the TomTomGo app began to misbehave.

Everything worked without any anomalies from February 1st through May 1st.

The app connects(ed) to my 2025 Toyota Crown Sedan Limited via AndroidAuto

ALL Guidance messages were/are being truncated.

For two weeks, I've tried to overcome the anomaly (see below).

The last few syllables were lost in "all" guidance messages.

This anomaly occurred whether via Bluetooth or USB; whether radio was on or off.

Uninstalled and re-installed TomTomGo - multiple times.

Disabled and re-enabled Android Auto - multiple times.

Cleared caches - multiple times.

YES all apps/software are at the latest release: Samsung Android, TomTomGo, AndroidAuto and Toyota Infotainment.

YES, I escalated (somehow) to TomTom support, but, except to ask for more info, no reply as yet.

Anomaly:
>> In three-hundred feet turn right onto Judicial Drive and then take the second ............ ????
>> Make a right turn and then turn left onto ..................????

The "bug" on the Toyota's map screen moves correctly, but the voice guidance is truncated/abbreviated.

ONE EXCEPTION: When the route is first selected/input, the TomTomGo app does generate a complete message: "You will reach your destination at xx:yy PM".

AND, if I disable AndroidAuto (to disconnect the smartphone from the Toyota), the TomTomGo voice guidance via the phone's speaker is 100% complete (with NO truncation).

= = = = =

Final test today, which prompted the abandonment of TomTomGo: installed WAZE, connected via AndroidAuto to the Toyota Infotainment system:

Result: NO truncated messages.

If you say the app works without being connected to Android Auto, we might assume the problem is Android Auto.

Now that Waze is working properly on Android Auto, this is normal.

I don't think the issue is AndroidAuto , as Waze uses AndroidAuto without any issue.

To me the issue is the manner in which TomTomGo links/communicates with AndroidAuto

Correct. Waze behaves properly with AndroidAuto

Before using the Tom Tom Go app this year I always used my physical TomTom device.

Very disappointed no resolution from TomTom as I notified them two weeks ago.

Hey TomTom; quick fix.
Jusas in the old-fashioned dialers, but even in touch-tone phones, just add a few "pauses" at the end of the guidance messages before transmitting EOM or EOB (end of message or end of block).

Try it, maybe you'll like it.

And who knows, maybe it will work

Thank you.

I've attempted to employ the above "Contact" URL to reach TOMTOM, all to no avail.

Even this morning, Pacific time, I tried again and the CHAT interpreter does not like my query, despite attempts to repharse the issue in various ways.

Sad.....................

I'm in an endless loop without any real means to post the issue to someone at TOMTOM HQ in the Netherlands.

Perhaps, TOMTOM NL has designated someone to review the postings herein for "unusual anomalies, etc.", but alas no feedback.

You need to contact Tomtom during office hours currently, it should be 10:15 PM in the Netherlands.
