I'm thinking of a dash mounting disk for my Go 510 and wonder if the 3m tape will really come off after a few years on the dash.

Anybody have any experience actually removing anything off of the dash after using the 3m tape? Will it destroy my dash?

hmm.. WD-40, perhaps? ;)

You only need two items in your toolbox: WD-40 and duct tape. If it's supposed to move, but won't, use the WD-40. If it's not supposed to move, but does, use the duct tape.

There will be no problem removing the 3M tape. I had a Garmin 2610's dash mount taped to the dash for 4 years and was able to remove it using plastic tools and patience, but it left no mark. Using WD-40 or lighter fluid makes the job easier but be sure to test first those fluids on a hidden area of the dashboard just in case.

Try Dental Floss. Sounds crazy, but it works most of the time.
