A year ago or so I bought a cheap GPS from Aldi make and model were
"Medion MD 96820 GPS" it came with what described as:

"Lifetime subscription* toTMC Traffic Monitoring*--displays
traffic accidents, road construction and other delay causing
incidents and routes you around them."

and furthermore:

"TMC Traffic Monitoring (Traffic Message Channel) is a digital radio data service that functions in a similar way to RDS and is used to continuously transmit traffic conditions and incidents to a device such as this one that contains a TMC receiver. The traffic information is continuously transmitted across the FM frequency. Apart from this, important information, as in the case of people driving on the wrong side of the road for example, can be passed on immediately. The service is only available where Navteq traffic coverage exists.

Coverage areas may expand or change without notice. Service is available for the life of the product as long as coverage exists. The MD 96820 GPS Navigation system includes lifetime TMC Traffic Monitoring* out of the box. It?s like having your own co-pilot in the car. It not only takes you to your destination, but with TMC Real Time Traffic Monitoring, it plans your journey around traffic accidents, road construction and other delay causing incidents taking the optimum and most efficient route. If a new incident occurs along the route, the software will automatically ask you if you would like to calculate a new route. Other GPS devices offer only a trial subscription and charge an annual fee thereafter. The MD 96820 includes this Traffic Monitoring for the life of this device or as long as the service is available from Navteq."

....now my question are subscriptions like this transferable? compatible between different makes and models of GPS receivers? (for instance TT GO 730).
