TomTom XL340 Not connecting to PC

    Hi guys,

    I noticed there was an issue with my TomTom XL 340 when the RDS attachment I also purchased stopped working. Thought nothing of it at first and thought the RDS traffic receiver might be faulty. Tried unplugging, rebooting etc. Obviously that did not work.

    Problem was first experienced after a routine map update by the way.

    Anyhow, today I connected the TomTom to my PC to see if an update might fix it and I get the following error...

    I click on the bubble and attempt to find the driver online or on my PC without any luck.

    I am still able to use the TomTom however I cannot keep it up to date, connect to my PC at all (cannot browse through explorer) or use the RDS.

    If it helps, I am using Windows 7

    Has anyone encountered this issue previously?

    Try resetting the unit by holding the power button for about 15 seconds and then reconnect to the computer. Any better?

    Thank You. That worked a perfectly. I'll try the RDS next time I go for a drive. The updating works though..
