TomTom stuck on start-up screen, can't reset it?

Hello all, my TomTom One 3rd Edition 1GB is stuck on the start-up screen and I cannot reset it as the reset button is broken. I tried holding the power button but no luck. When I connect it via USB to my computer, the green light turns and thats all that happens, so I can't see it on the computer. Is there any way to instantly cut off power from it?

I would probably start off by letting the battery drain till the unit turns off and then recharge it.
