Tomtom smartphone car kit?

Since TT hasn't released an updated iPhone 5 car kit I was thinking about trying the Tomtom Smartphone car kit and using a lightning cable to charge it. Has anyone done this? I'm just curious as to whether or not the back of it has a hard wired micro usb connection or if its just a usb plug in.

The TT smartphone holder/mount appears to be the best choice for iPhone users, regardless of 4/4S/5. The Apple micro USB adapter seems to be perfect!
