Can anyone get unit to power up aswell as off?
unit will power down with charger disconnect but can you get it to turn on?

Not sure I understand your question, but I'll take a stab at it...

To turn the power on, you have to hold the power button in for about 3 seconds until you see the screen light up. Then let go. Same thing for powering off - hold the button in.
