Tomtom one Battery

Can anyone tell Me!!!!
If battery life on tomtom one 3 fails,
Should tomtom still operate when being charged.
I have this fault and don`t know if I should purchace
battery or is the fault with something else.

Your help Please.

In theory, you should be able to use the unit with the car charger only.

Thanks, I was thinking that Myself, as a Mobile phone or Laptop can work directly from charging unit.

If the battery is REALLY dead, it can sometimes stop the device working at all.

If you can take the device apart (there will be instructions in a post on here) you should be able to unplug the battery and then work it solely from the car charger.

I am having problems with my TomTom 1 ver 3 also.
If I charge it on a powered usb or car charger, it works for a few seconds then shuts down.. It will connect and power up to the pc ok. Can I test or replace the battery?
And are there instructions posted somewhere?
