TomTom Model(s)
Go5200
My wife occasionally used the satnav 5200 when going on lone journeys - usually, it's me using it, either alone or with her. I now have a subscription and have started to use it on my phone using Android Auto. I learned how to download all parts of the UK map not just the local part thanks to this forum.
Is it possible for my wife to install TomTom on her phone and use my subscription? We can never use both at the same time having only one car. I try to set it up as I did on my phone and it tells me that my email address does not have a subscription. Not true - I have just updated the UK maps on my phone just now.
Thanks
Paul

On both phones, you must log in with the same credentials that allowed you to purchase the app.

That's what I thought I had to do. I have tried quite a few times now on her phone using my email address and the password I use for TomTom and it tells me that there are no active subscriptions for this TomTom account. Yet lower down the screen, it tells me that I am logged in as me paul. etc. .com No typos. Why can't it find my subscription? I use my subscription with TomTom on my phone or on the Go5200 linked to my phone's 'WiFi'. So the subscription is in place.

Did you purchase the subscription via your Google account or via your Tomtom account?

Google, I think. Google Pay certainly came into it. Is it not buying the same product? There was no warning . . .

If it's with Google, you need to log in on both phones with the same Google account credentials.

I paid using Google Pay but my Tomtom accoount is set to my usual email paul.*****@***.com The password I am entering is the one I have used for TomTom for some time.

The error I get on her phone is - No subscriptions attached to this email.

The error I get if I try with my Google account is - Incorrect login. You've entered an incorrect email address or password.

So the Google account is not the way to go - Tomtom doesn't know about it. The problem is Tomtom failing to find my account using her phone. Where do I go from here?

Since subscriptions are now managed by Google Play, the TomTom account is only used to log in to MyDrive in the App. So if you all share the same TomTom account, you will have access to the same "My Places" content.

The error you get ""There is no subscription associated with this email"" . is completely normal
If you log in with your Google account address it will find it.

As previously written, I then get "Incorrect login. You've entered an incorrect email address or password." I'm going round in circles here.

How do I confirm which email address is actually attached to the TomTom GO app on MY phone? Where can I see that in the App?

You are the one who wants to go around in circles, your login email address is the email address that allowed you to purchase the application on Google Play.

Are you trying with the Google address?

Normally, users tend to have it the same as the login address. What does it say under TomTom Services at the bottom of that page? Is the "Logged in as:" address a gmail address?

@Paul Spanton

Let's start from the beginning.

To download the application on both your phones, you must do so with the Gmail address that allowed you to purchase the application.

In the Tomtom service on your phone, you will be able to log in with the email address of your Tomtom account.

On my phone, in the Tomtom GO app, I am logged in as paul.*@bt*.com under TomTom services, not my Google login and this works perfectly.
Should I delete the App on my wife's phone and start again to ensure that I try to follow the post below from Willy875? I'm not sure how this would help as the main purpose is to gain access to the TomTom subscription which it looks like I am doing on my non-Google login on my phone.
I worked in IT for 20 years and can follow precise instructions but this has defeated me so far. Please just suggest what I should do from scratch if I delete the TomTom GO app on her phone.
And I do appreciate your help - yes, really.

On your wife's phone, you download the application with your Gmail credentials that allowed you to buy it.

Once installed, still on your wife's phone, go to Tomtom service.

you enter the credentials of your Tomtom account.

For your information, on both phones, you have the same places, the same routes saved identically.

I have deleted the App and reinstalled.
On the initial screen, it asks me to login as an existing user.
Whichever email address I use, I get the same (but different) errors messages as above.
paul.**@bt*.com tells me there are no subscriptions linked to that email. So it recognises the email address.
span*(e-mail address removed) tells me I have entered an incorrect email address or password. So it doesn't know this one at all.
I have checked my Google password on another device and confirmed I am using the right one.

You say to download the App with my Gmail credentials that allowed me to buy it. Is there a prior step before the screen asking Car or Truck & Car? If so, I'm not seeing it.

I think there's misunderstanding here. @Paul Spanton what you are entering on initial screen is the account just for TomTom services - mainly for sharing saved places between your installation of application on the phone and MyDrive portal. It has nothing to do with your subscription and that is why You've got observed errors. If you want to use your subscription also on your wife phone then not the TomTomGo Nav. apk should be logged in with your TomTom account login (although if You want to share also places between these phones then after logging apk with your TT account you will have that). To share subscription your wife phone itself (strictly speaking Google Play application) has to be logged in with the same account credentials as they are on your phone where you have bought your subscription
