Tomtom Go Classic hot: start-up is interrupted.
When I got to my car today, the car and the GPS were very hot, maybe around 50 degrees Celsius.
The GPS had shut down by itself, and the display showed “97%” (battery status)
I then turned on the car’s AC.
When I tried to turn on the GPS, the Tomtom logo appeared and the Tomtom sound, but then it died again.
This happened three times!!
Only after a break of 5 minutes and on the fourth attempt did I manage to start it.
I have not experienced this before.
Is it because of the heat that it would not start?
I am considering putting a piece of cardboard behind it to shield it from the heat when the car is parked. Is that a good idea?

Yes, it's because the sun on the windshield heated up your battery, so your GPS went into safety mode.

The best way to prevent your battery from overheating is to remove your GPS from your windshield when you're stopped.
