I've just bought a new Camper Max (2nd generation) with a windscreen mount. Has anybody suffered from intermittent charging connection?

I ask this as my previous Camper Max (1st generation) had exactly the same fault. I even bought a new replacement windscreen mount for the first version but that also had the same fault.

I've had to turn off the battery setting to stop shutdown when power disconnected.

Is this a common fault and is there a workaround?

Is your GO Camper plugged into the cigarette lighter charger supplied with the GPS or into a USB port built into your vehicle?

I've tried both, fault is definitely with the mount

You absolutely must plug it into the cigarette lighter charger supplied with the GPS; otherwise, the battery will lose power, and the GPS will eventually shut down.

If you plug the charger's USB connector directly into the GPS, do you experience the same problem?

In my opinion, you have the same problem as @Yomper's Go Discovery 7.

Like I have already said several times I have tried other chargers 2 original tomtom chargers my van battery and leisure battery are brand new and fully charged. I already said I've used an indoor plug charger. My cigarette lighter chargers are 30w or more I have said ive tried many different...

I had exactly the same with a first gen one and it went back to tomtom for repair, it was still under warranty. It couldn't be repaired so they replaced it with a reconditioned one which was garaunteed. This has now got exactly the same fault! I bought a new windscreen mount, didnt change a thing. I have just returned from touring in Europe and ended up having to hold the charging wire in place with an elastic band!!! I have just bought a second generation one hoping that the fault would have been resolved so I'm worried now that it's going to be the same. If so it will be my last tomtom!

Exactly the same fault, with the correct plug into the socket. Goes flat at the most inconvenient time.

Sadly, one of many faults with the Camper Max. I will not be replacing it.
