Hi,

Can anyone let me know what is the root file system of TomTom Go 720?
I mean, is it something like ext2/ext3.......

FAT32. Linux has no problems reading/writing/creating FAT(32) file systems. If it had been one of its native file systems (ext2, ext3, ReiserFS, xfs, jfs etc), you wouldn't have been able to see it as an extra drive in your computer (at least not without installing a specific driver - which would've been an overkill, when FAT32 "just works" in Windows, Linux and - I presume - Macs).
