TomTom Model(s)
Go 6000
Hello everyone on the TomTom forum.
My name is Maciej, and since this is my first post, I'd like to introduce myself and say hello to everyone before addressing the problem that's preventing me from using my device.

I reset my device tomtom go 6000 , and after the reset, I lost the maps on it. So I decided to download them from the TomTom website and connect to the navigation system using MyDevice Connect.

The connection went smoothly. The navigation system was found, but I can't download anything except voices.
I don't have maps available for download from My Content.
This is strange, since my device has Lifetime Maps, and the same applies to TOMTOM TRAFFIC.
The TomTom itself is unusable because it only has a language selection option. Besides that, I can't do anything except move to the next menu because I don't have maps.

Has anyone else had a similar problem? Can I count on your help?I contacted TomTom support, and they informed me that my internet connection is too weak (I have 1 Gb/s fiber), so that's definitely out of the question.
Out of curiosity, I connected to a different network and still can't download or update anything using MyDrive Connect.TomTom support told me to reset the device from the menu, but I can't do that either.
After selecting the language, I'm supposed to select maps on the device, where I could probably proceed. However, as I mentioned earlier, I don't have any maps on the device.

Gentlemen, is the problem I'm experiencing caused by LIFETIME MAPS support being disabled?

While searching for information on this topic, I found models where LIFETIME MAPS was disabled. Fortunately, my TomTom GO 6000 model didn't have it, although the device is over 10 years old. I asked them to check and, if necessary, enable this service if it was disabled.

Hi. A basic search on internet says the Go 6000 is discontinued. “Lifetime” is that of the device and is until the operating system and maps no longer fit into the memory on the device. It seems TT decided it is time for you to buy a replacement.
I have a couple of old devices in my house like this. They need recycling as no map updates at all.

Normally, lifetime maps are assigned 10 years on the device, which is the maximum lifespan of a Tomtom device. If a device reaches 10 years, you must contact Tomtom support to extend the map update service.

Thank you, Troggy99, for your perspective, but I'll point you in the right direction. My device has an additional SD card slot for up to 32 GB, so there shouldn't be any problems installing maps. The second point is why the maps will be available on my device if I purchase the maps! Can you explain this to me? When I bought this device, I bought it under the pretext that it included lifetime maps, and with TomTom's written agreement, they have to deliver on their promises.

Thank you, Willy875, for this information. I've been waiting for any response on this (my case) for three days now, and from the very beginning (over a week), I've only been getting information that I'm doing something wrong, that I need to reset the device in the settings, or perform a hard reset, etc. The ball is still bouncing back and forth. Now I asked specifically to check and confirm that my device still has the LifeTime feature for both maps and LifeTime Traffic. Unless it was disabled, I asked them to enable it, as promised from the very beginning from TOMTOM.

SIM cards on GO 6000 are not lifetime, so the SIM card can be deactivated at any time, as is currently the case on some GPS devices.

Okay, I'll get over the SIM card and the resulting traffic, and I'll somehow get over this loss. But as for the maps and excuses like the device is over 10 years old and the maps are too large, I feel cheated by TomTom. I bought a device with the option of installing an SD card up to 32 GB, and suddenly, nothing works. And today I received a reply from TomTom saying I could get a 5% discount on a new device. Let them shove that discount and their new device up their asses.

No information about what I asked them for, no confirmation that the service (LIFETIME MAPS) was activated on my device at my request.

Sorry for the mistake, I meant 32 GB because that's the only card I have.
I don't know where I got 64 GB from (I'll correct my posts soon).

Today I tried connecting my TT go6000 to MyDrive Connect again and... my eyes almost popped out!
Everything started working like clockwork (as it should).

The maps were downloaded to the SD card, and I was able to configure everything (I went through the entire installation menu, selected the country, and everything worked).

My navigation system probably got a second chance and has LIFETIME MAPS enabled again.
I'll check the rest later i mean LifeTime Trafic.

P:S:/ The map of all of Europe in version v11.x contains over 8GB, so it can't be installed on the device (only 6032MB available). However, it installed on the 32GB SD card without any problems.

Willy875, thanks for your help.
