Tomtom go 520 new battery installed now the screen keeps returning to the same page and no touch screen response

Hi anyone know how to fix this problem?

I changed the battery and now when i turn the device on it returns to the same page showing the map where I live but wont respond to any touch for menu etc

I have tried reboot

I tried disconnecting the battery and tried connecting to the computer app all with the same outcome???

Make sure the digitiser is plugged in, it may have been disturbed when you put the battery in.

Hi ok thanks sounds feasible but how do I check it has or has not been disturbed

When you did the battery swap, it wasn't necessary to separate the screen from the motherboard (as used to be the case on many older models) to gain access to the battery, but you DID have to tilt the screen back, bending the flex cable in its connector. Shouldn't have been a problem if treated gently, but we weren't there to suggest this.

The flex cable motherboard connector latches can be broken if not worked properly, or the flex cable may not be making a decent connection if not properly reassembled.

Hi Thanks for the input and your advice

I just disconnected it again and it is still locked on the same screen and wont let the touch screen operate

Shall I take it it is dead?

Hi,
If the touchscreen worked before you changed the battery, it should work again.

If you disconnected the connector, have you tried reattaching it to the card's connector?
