TomTom Eclipse

I have a couple questions that *hopefully* you guys can answer. I just bought a TomTom Eclipse AVN2210p. I havent' gotten it yet though.

1. Can you use the Traffic RDS antenna with this?

2. Does the unit use MapShare?

I figure the TomTom unit is close to the TomTom One.

I believe mapshare is only for nav 7, which this doesn't have yet.

There are only two ports on the back of the headunit - one for ipod and the other for aux in, so I don't think it will support that unless it can work in place of the ipod connector.

The tomtom unit itself has no inputs aside from usb and the sdcard slot.


It does say this on the site, so it may work - Note: The TomTom RDS-TMC Traffic Receiver cannot be used at the same time as the TomTom iPod? Connect Cable on the TomTom GO 910 and 720, which uses the same port.

You'd have to remove the whole unit to swap between them though.

I'm not sure the RDS system works in the United States. The unit comes with an external antennae that connects to the back of the stereo unit but I have no idea if the thing is working or not because the PND has a built in antennae and you get signal whether its docked in the stereo unit or not.
