Tomtom app no longer opens

I have an iPhone 4 running 4.3. When I click on the Tomtom icon the program looks like it is going to start but then goes back to the icon. I tried shutting the other Apps down but that didn't work. I even reinstalled the App but that didn't work either.

Try this
Sync and back up
Uninstall the app
Do a soft reset hold home and power button about 10 sec till you get the apple logo
Re down load the app in itunes
Sync

Thanks for your reply. I tried the steps exactly as you described but still no luck. I might add that I used to have a iPhone 3GS and the software worked fine for several months; then, out of now where, it stopped working in a similar fashion (i.e., click the icon, software starts to open, then back to the icon). I didn't try to resolve it because I knew I'd be switching to an iPhone 4 shortly and that surely would resolve things. Boy, was I wrong.

Very frustrating considering how much this app cost.
