TomTom announces new method to get gas prices -- USA

Credit for Map Error corrections?!

The fact that I'd have to plug in my device to my PC every single day to get updated prices makes it a little useless. I might as well just go to the MANY websites out there that already do this type of service for free. Just type in your address and almost all gas stations near your house appear with their prices.

IT would be Nice if Tom Tom would Give credit to those who Contribute to map error corrections. Like giving discounts based on participation, for map updates and fuel prices etc. Oh and Have you tried using your bluetooth connection to udate your prices over the media net provided by your cell service provider.

It is possible to pull down the latest gas price updates via DUN on your phone, if your phone supports data.

You don't if you have a data-enabled phone that's tethered to your TomTom!

*Confused* So.. what I think they're saying is that you can go somewhere like Best Buy, buy the gas price service, and give it as a gift to someone who owns a TomTom. Did I get that right?

Seems rather worthless. At least around here, I'm not sure I can drive to the station before the prices change...

This is why the data connection through a cell phone is such a wonderful thing. Traffic info, and any other plus service(including the freebies) will get updates via the data service if you have it configured.
