TomTom 720 save alternative routes

Is it possible to save alternative routes using itinerary? I can save the original route, but it does not save the modified route. Anyone figure out how to do this?

Once you select the alternate route, can you save it as an .itn file? You could create the alternate route on google maps and save it that way.
