Tom tom xxl red cross

    Hi all

    have a tom tom xxl iq routes europe with red cross.

    Have deleted all files from both device and computer.

    Device will not even ask to connect to computer.
    States that there is nothing on the device at all all megabytes are free.

    Am having at look at this for a friend.

    Bit stuck really any suggestions please, if nessecary he can buy the maps again.

    Wont allow me to download voices ect, it is just as though the unit has no operating system on it.:(

    And why would you have deleted all the files from the unit and the computer!! :eek:

    Don't suppose you've made a backup using Explorer??

    Hold the power button forever until you see a black debug screen. Then power it off/on again and you should see the red X. Then try plugging it into the computer to see if it prompts to connect.

    If it connects, open up Tomtom HOME and HOME should prompt to download the application. Then try "Tools" -> "Latest Map Guarantee" to see if you get a free map. If not (and you have no backup) then try calling Tomtom support as they might give you an older map for free. If not, you'll have to buy a new map.
