Tom Tom ONE switching the screen off on its own.

As per the titile, my mums Tom Tom ONE 3rd edition 1GB keeps switching the screen off.

She says ther doesnt seem to be any pattern, sometimes it stays on for hours without doing it, other days it goes off every few minutes.


The tom tom itself doesnt actually go off and the voice keeps giving the correct directions, but he screen is blank.

It is not the opton in the menu to turn the screen off, as that is set to "NEVER" .


The tomtom is always plugged in to the car so i think the battery should not be affecting it (i could be wrong ther though)



Any ideas anyone?

Have you tried a reset?

Yeah mate, done it a couple of times now.

To eliminate any software problems you could do a full format.
-Back up you device using windows explorer.
-Delete all the contents of your device using windows explorer
-In My Computer right click on your device & select format, (full not quick)
-When done connect to TomTom home & reinstall the latest application software
-When thats done restart your device, connect to computer & copy your map(s) bact to the device directory.
