Hi, wonder if somebody can give me a steer on this or has a simialr issue

So I've just moved from a BMW to a Tesla, Apple Car Play on the BMW and all was fine with Tom Tom Go, used it for Nav or to run in the background giving me speed camera alerts etc through my speakers

On the Tesla there is no Apple Car Play - nightmare! - I set up the TT Go App to alert me though my Tesla of speed camera's/accidents etc yet no sound comes through the Tesla speakers, no reduction in music or pausing of audio etc, the app itself shows say the camera location, counts down to it etc on the app visual but no alert through the speakers

When I change the source to phone only, not Tesla Audio, the alert plays through the phone as I move towards the camera so the app is working, the sound through the Tesla is not. Any suggestions? Anybody using Go with a Tesla and has come across this?

Thanks in advance

Hi

The app is only compatible with CarPlay or Android auto, so if you don't have either, you can't use Tomtom GO on your car.

Thanks, yes I get that, I wasn't expecting visuals on the screen etc but I was expecting the alerts to override the music once set up this way, randomly it works when I'm on a call,(you hear the beep of the alert through the speaker) but won't work when the radio/apple music is playing though the car

Afraid that's a function of the Tesla head unit. Audio 'priority' is set by the head unit firmware. It must decide what to do if there's already audio playing and another source starts to supply an alternate audio stream over BT. Sounds like they got it right for voice calls, but not for 'radio' audio.
