TomTom Model(s)
GO6000. GO500
I am trying to pair my tom tom with Blackberry 8520 phone for hands free use. My Blackberry recognises the Tom Tom but Tom Tom does not recognise the Blackberry. Several unsuccessful tries then I saw on Tom Tom site that this phone is not compatible with this model of Blackberry. Don't know how current the site is but would be grateful if someone can confirm this to be true. I have had the usual computer generated reply from Tom Tom saying they cannot include every phone etc. Anyone know whether my phone will be included in the future please?

Are you enabling discoverable mode on the Blackberry before having the Tomtom attempt to pair? Does the blackberry have the latest firmware?

I haven't yet seen a Blackberry that Tomtom doesn't pair successfully with a Tomtom. Don't trust support as they are trained to not offer help of phones that aren't pre-tested in their lab and approved on their compatibility list. However, many phones that aren't on the list still work.

Thanks for reply.
I assume latest software loaded as frequent syncs have been done. The Blackberry thinks it is paired with Tom Tom as TomTom GO Live appears on 'paired devices'. When I press 'connect' button it says 'waiting for Tom Tom'. I think therefore problem coming from Tom Tom end. I connect to Tom Tom services fine for Traffic etc. Mystery??https://www.tomtomforums.com/images/icons/icon5.gif

While the Tomtom shows up as a paired device, handsfree won't work that way.

You have to set the blackberry up as discoverable, and initiate the pairing from the "add phone" option on the Tomtom.

Thanks again
I tried that but the Tom Tom says 'no bluetooth found" I'll keep trying.

A few other things you could try:
- Try deleting the Tomtom pairing from the blackberry and try again
- Do this type of reset on the Tomtom
- Try to have the blackberry search for devices at the exact same time that the Tomtom is searching

That worked==thanks a lot!!

There are 2 options on blackberry when trying to pair-
search or listen. 'search' does not work, 'listen' does.

Looking on the uk tom tom site there are few phones compatible woth tom tom services which i have. Must need updating.

Very many thanks for being so patient and helpful.
