Tom Tom 730 wont turn on or connect to pc

please advise how i reformat and I will buy the maps tonight.

Go to my Computer. Click on the drive represented by the unit. Right click and one option is to format. Don't use quickformat.

Then, once done, connect to Home. It should offer an application. Install and disconnect properly from Home using the Device Disconnect icon.

To play safe, connect once more to see if any further appplication updates are offered. If so, go through the process again.

Once that is done, in Home, click on the Purchase Maps icon and take it from there.

Keep getting errors. I have been trying to download the NA maps that same ones I had before the unit froze up. Not right that I should have to buy these. TomTom should supply the factory set maps.

What errors? Maps are not free. That's why we always suggest a backup (Explorer) when one first gets a unit.
