I cannot get any routes to sync to my Rider at the moment. There have been a number of threads on this but can't see any suggested solutions. One thread from last year referred to a bug, but I assume Tom Tom has fixed now?
My places is syncing fine, my account is logged in, shows as connected.
Someone mentioned a sync button. But i can't find this. Found a "stop syncing" button, and this is not active

I am having the same issue
I am updating some routes I made some weeks ago when I save the new route I get a message "Connection Lost"
I am doing the Edits on my Laptop, I can see the updated and new routes on my phone app but not on my Rider 550.

Hi raised a ticket with Tom Tom, I have not solved the problem yet, but have not tried all the steps.

Reset device
1. Do a factory re-set
2. At the select language screen do a soft reset, Tom Tom drum roll
3. when the device restarts you can do select language then

Reset account
1. Login in plan.tomtom
2. log out
3 log in again

Restore device (this is the step i have not done as I need my Tom Tom for the next few days.
In case the issue persists, I request you to refer to the below link to restore the device:

Hi,
If your addresses are syncing correctly, the problem isn't with your account connection.
I think your route is causing the problem.
To check, could you create a short route as simple as possible and send it to your GPS?

OK, I did not expect that to work - but it did, thank you. A simple a to B route of 12 miles synced over.
Still a bit odd, because routes that used to sync, now don't.
I tried simplifying a route name to just a word no spaces etc. That did not help.
I don't think my routes are particularly long or complex, say 20 miles 20 waypoints.
What are the restrictions?

The amount of waypoints is your problem 20 plus start and finish is the maximum. As far as I can remember it could be 20 total.

OK ran a few tests
I think the cause of the problem was that the route had not been calculated by Plan.tomtom. It was just straight lines between waypoints.
So i pressed "edit" without changing anything. Tomtom calculated a route from the waypoints. Which I saved.

And voila! Route synced across to my Rider550
Doh!

Anyway the tests
Got up to 28 waypoints, plus start and finish, all synced. Did not try any harder
This is more than the routes I was trying to sync
The routes I wanted to sync had all been created using MRA.
What was then odd was that my test files from MRA had just worked, without having to "edit" them
I think this is because in the import process they had appeared as "exact" routes, rather than "fast". I could see that there was a proper route, and no straight lining.

Thinking again, this is because i exported the Test routes from MRA using their export function. But my other routes I had just loaded as GPX files into TomTom.
Willy875's question got me to the right answer, for the wrong reasons. But thank you, would not have got there otherwise.

Interesting(?) and very time consuming learning experience.

My routes just started working again. didn't do anything apart from edit the route and save without changing anything
the plan wasn't critical as the route we were riding was signposted, but it was helpful when planning stopes
