Just installed 7481. Dont recall if this was already there, but in brightness pref, there is a selection for "Switch to Night View when dark". It also asks when you go to choose night colors. It doesnt seem to use your selected night colors though, just a darkened version of your day colors.
Seems to take 5 secs to turn on now. I would gladly pay for the damn thing to turn on with ignition.
It does automatically switch day/night colors, I was inside without a GPS signal, so everything was b/w.
