TomTom Model(s)
GO 6100
Since I bought my GO6100 over a year ago I have been trying to get the name of our street corrected using their web correction page. The first two attempts simply disappeared into the ether. The last attempt in June actually showed as 'Accepted' and now shows as 'Fixed' ... only it hasn't been fixed at all, the maps are still showing the original wrong name.

What in the name of sanity do you have to do to get TomTom to get something right? :mad:

Dave.

It may take up to 9 months from the time a change is accepted till you see that change reflected in an updated map.

Seriously? That is utterly appalling and in the meantime all my courier deliveries are going astray because they can't find my street. I am most unimpressed.

You can provide your lat/long values to the couriers, you know.

Menu-->Search-->whole world-->scroll down to lat/long. Click.

The values shown represent your current location.

What version of the map is on your device, by the way?

I could but how many couriers can be bothered with all that kafuffle.

I'm on Europe + UK version 9.7 which seems to be the only map that TT haven't yet updated to 9.75

I don't know about 'tardy' but mine is showing routes into London severely delayed by the Black Plague and the Great Fire. :D

Not sure what happened to your earlier attempts. The online reporter only shows your history back a maximum of 6 months by default, so perhaps that was why they eventually 'disappeared' from view. Did you ever go back to see if they were accepted/rejected a month or so after they were submitted? I have one report submitted 3 September 2016 that has already been accepted, though I also have a few hanging fire from August. Much depends upon the nature of the change, I guess.

Your successful June submission would definitely have been too late for 975 which was due for release in mid-August. They would have already had the maps 'locked down' in June for all of the many builds that they do for the next release.

The good news is that TomTom continues to work on a more timely updating process for maps and that your newer 6100 model will be the beneficiary of those changes -- eventually.

Well my 2 earlier attempts never got past 'Pending' and then disappeared altogether which is when I entered the fresh June attempt which was flagged as 'Accepted' after a while and now more recently 'Fixed'. We shall see.

I've been wondering what that 'Fixed' business is about. That just started this year. It used to be rejected or accepted or pending, but have recently also seen "Fixed" on a couple of my own entries.

They are putting the 980 to bed at this time that is why I would not expect to see your "fixed" changes until the 985 maps.
As canderson said, they have started to speed up the process and more progress is, if not in the wings, but anticipated.

Look at the plus side for you, in the good old days we had to pay more for the devices and pay again for the once a year upgrade.
;->)
