Start2 only gives 2 routes?

Hi All,
I just bought a Start2, but I can not figure out how to select from several alternatives.
When I plan a route, I get a screen showing me the 2D route and saying that
"Fastest Route - IQ routes (1/12, HH:MM)"
What I understand from here is "This the fastest among 12 routes which takes hh:mm of time"
Am I right?
(Also there is nowhere in the options to select fastest or shortest)
Anyway when it shows me the fastest route, I only have "Done" button and "Change route" button. When I hit change route button, I get "Calculate alternative" button. When I hit it, it only gives me just one route with the message
"00:35 hrs - xx.x km (original 00:31 hrs, xx.x km)"
It does not ask me select among alternatives, only offers me one more except the first (original) route.
Also when I hit calculate alternative again, I see "recalculate route" button and the result is the same with the first route.

So the summary is Start2 only gives one original route and only one alternative.
I am missing something?
I have all the latest updates from tomtom home software.

The Start 2 model is a basic device that will always select the fastest route.

That said, read through the following thread about how to add more functionality to the device by creation of a custom menu:

Wow, thanks dhn, seems nice, but does it get lost when I update my version ?

The custom menu? No, from my understanding, the custom menu still works with the 9.x application on the device.

To play safe, make an Explorer, not Home, backup of the unit's contents prior to creating the custom menu ... just in case.

No, that's the date in 'Euro" format, 1 December. :biggrin1:
