"Select POI categories" in Map Share Preferences on HOME computer app

I didn't see a forum for HOME, so I'm posting here as I own a ONE device.

I selected my Trust Level. I see all countries/states are selected.

I look under "Select POI categories". I see that nothing is selected. I see that I can select as many as I like. But, I don't understand what this means. I can't find an explanation.

Is selecting None the same as All being selected perhaps? If not selected, will I not get POI updates?

After selecting some categories, I see that I have some POI updates to install. I guess now I know why I wasn't getting POI updates for the past year. Surprised this is off by default.
