Yea, some people thought it was a new version of go, but then youd think they would release that via the Go beta channel etcStrange. We will see.
How would that help people with the off-line conditions that prevent GO from starting?Considering some of the map details and other options, I find Amigo much better than TomTom GO.
In many ways You're right. Maps details are much better and these new maps are for me very welcome also in TTGo (I think that would be even easier to keep up to date only one type of maps, and Orbis maps based on openstreet maps seems to be the future of mapmaking in TomTom). But Amigo lacks many of nice features which we have in TTGo. First of all it is not offline (although nowadays it quite illusory also for TTGo as it cannot start offline), Amigo doesn't have very informative route bar, cannot save routes, cannot share arrival time, doesn't have nice wide automatic zooming... The most important thing to me is possibility to work off line as in many places during my trips I'm in places where signal is very poor or even vanishes or I want to turn off data connection outside EU.. Even at place where I live there's practically no signal so now if I don't start navigation in the range of my WiFi network then I won't have working navigation... Not nice at all, especially that if I have some problem with internet connection in my home (sometimes, fortunately not often but it happens) I can't even plan my route despite having theoretically offline TTGoConsidering some of the map details and other options, I find Amigo much better than TomTom GO.
I think the team working on Amigo is not the same as the team working on TomTom GO.
