One of the most typical scenarios for many "holiday" riders is this :
- find and download a scenic route on the internet (examples on alpenpaesse.de and endless others),
- download the associated GPX (track) file - this is not yet a route in the way TT uses this term,
- import the GPX file into your device (in my case a Rider 50),
- the track now shows under <My Routes> in the main menu, and you can ride to the starting point, and follow the "track" downloaded such.
Note that this track does usually have an arbitrary sense (what is called start and what is called end). With a few exceptions, it can be as nice or more convenient to travel in opposite direction.
Note too, that the tracks downloaded (XML files with style, route and track information) cannot simply be edited in order to archive a reversal.

Back to my TT Rider, after I opened the new route, and see it on screen / map : I do not see any way in the Rider's menus (main, quick or context) to start the ride at the end point. One can ride from any place outside the area to the starting point OR ending point of the route ... but that is it. If you go to the ending point ... you are there ... no guidance back to the starting point.
The manual is also utterly quiet on this subject. All it says on page 148 :
  • While commuting to work - You want to add one or two regular stops between home and work. Your route back home in the evening is the reverse of your route to work in the morning.
That is great, but how ?

I don't remember a button that allows you to reverse the route on the GPS.

Now what you can do is add your route to your Mydrive account, select this route with the button on Mydrive, reverse the route and save it.

Appreciate your thoughts, pal. But a real solution while traveling this ain't !! ;{

I assume you are planning your outbound trip from your computer?
so you can also plan your return trip at the same time.

No I don't. It usually works like this : I download a few nicy tracks for the area where I want to ride. Don't waste a lot of time with planning, not online not offline. Stay over night. Next morning I look at all the tracks (in Locus Maps, cause Rider 50 cannot show all imported tracks at once on one screen), pick the closest or best or other, go to the start or end of that selected track (whatever feels best), and ride. And in 50% of the cases I come to realize that I am at the wrong end and my Rider 50 can't handle that.
