"Restore my Device" in HOME not working

Before I left for a trip, I made a backup of my tomtom with HOME 2.0. (So I could delete all my local fav's etc,)

At one point on the trip, I backed it up again, (on my laptop this time, so it didn't overwrite the original) so I could delete some more stuff, and still be able to restore if I wanted.


Now I am home from the trip, and I try to restore the original backup from my desktop PC, and HOME says that the restore worked! But it only took/takes about 1 second, and nothing on the tomtom is changed. Settings, fav's, etc, -- nothing changed back at all with the restore.

So I decided to try to restore the second backup from my laptop, same exact results. Says it worked, but didn't.

Any ideas what the deal is here?

I'm doing a manual restore now. Hopefully that will work.

But I am still curious what the deal with this was?

The problem is with the home software.

Always backup and restore with a file manager.
