As I can't run Australia Truck on my GO720 I'm looking for a TT replacement.
Have spent numerous hours googling but witout any success.
The closest I found was a GO5100 but does not mention that it supports truck maps.
Due to the age it will have to be a second hand unit and have found a unit but the seller provides no information.
The Go5100 manual has a reference to truck """ If a truck map is not installed on this product then this product is intended for use only on cars """
Thats it.
Can anyone help.
thanks

The GO 5100 was released in 2015. Buying this 10-year-old GPS isn't a good deal; the battery will likely need replacing.

The GO 5100 has a world map, but no truck map.

Thanks,
What TT would run Australia Truck Maps? What about the one in the image.
Used Europe truck for over ten years travelling Europe in a Motorhome and it proved invaluable.
That map advised of streets where u-turn was not possible and especially low bridges.
Would like to do the same travelling around Australia.

Wow. That 8275 is quite a nice gadget. Also known as the TomTom "Bridge" model. How much $ they want for it? It's definitely not new, but it outperforms pretty much everything TomTom currently has on the market.

I'd be 100% sure that a) it has somewhat current maps, and b) the owner can tell you where they are getting the truck map updates for it. The 'Webfleet' connection needs to be certain.

I own two of those. Definitely my favorites. The GPRS won't work, of course, since that's long since been shut down in Australia, but you set your phone up as a WiFi hotspot and let the 8275 get traffic data & etc. that way.

From your response, and thanks, it seems to be to complex for what I need.. Don't think the eBay seller will be forth coming with answers. I'm good at loading maps on my 720 but the 8275 scares me. I'll place the 8275 on hold in the hope that you can recommend a replacement for the 720 that I can run the truck software. Once a unit is identified I would buy two units for reduncancy when travelling.

Are these pirated maps?

On recent GPS devices, you have to go through TomTom to add a map to the device.

It would be much simpler to buy a recent truck GPS device like the Expert; the maps are free for life.
