Problems with xl2 model

my tom tom xl2 has been playing up switching itself off then back on again, clever or what? anyway they tell me the guarantee on the new one is the same as the old one ie i bought it last october and the guarantee runs out this october, that means i am only getting a 4 month guarantee on the new model, that cant be right can it? has anyone else taken one back and been told the same? MAX

I've changed the thread title to something more meaningful. A warranty on a new item is at least 1 year in the UK, maybe more (You have the protection of the 'not fit for use' consumer protection).

Have you tried resetting the unit by holding the power button about 10 seconds till you hear the drum sounds (unless that model has a dedicated reset hole)
