Problems with map update on GO500

I am trying to update maps, but after about 40 minutes my device goes to sleep, and the update stops.
This is OK, I can resume the download when I wake my device up.
However, on about the 3rd time this happened I got the message that the download was corrupted.
This is sort of OK as Connect is now trying to "repair" the maps.
I have had this problem (although not the corrupt bit) before and it got there in the end
My question is - how can i keep my device awake so it just completes he map update?
The device is connected to my laptop using the USB cable, and MyDrive Connect is fully up to date

It is your computer that you need to configure so that it does not go into sleep mode.


If the map is corrupted, you must delete it, then clear the cache and restart the download.
 
OK, it got there in the end, about 10 restarts
Should have been clearer, it was the TomTom that was going to sleep
 
In my opinion, it's because your computer went into sleep mode, depriving your GPS of power, so your GPS also went into sleep mode.

Because your GPS shouldn't go into sleep mode unless you specifically choose to do so.
