Problem Turning on

I have recently bought a Tom tom XL 30 which works fine apart from one problem. It will only turn itself on if the power button is held down for approx 25 seconds. Is this normal? is there anything I can do to get it to turn on normally?

Have you tried a reset on the unit?

Also, is your application up to date? An earlier formware resulted in the necessity to hold the power button for 7 to 10 seconds. With the latest, it's back to a couple of seconds, or should be.
