Power follows Ignition?

I have a TomTom 300 that was in service for some time. I now have an XL350tm.

The 300 would power up when the external power came on (car was started) and shut down when the power went off (car was shut off).

Out of the box the XL350tm does not do this. Does the XL350tm not have this capability?... or does it need to be configured someplace? Was a VERY convenient feature and would be a real shame if this feature went away.

This is a feature that TomTom cannot seem to get sorted out.

The same thing has happened with the latest software for the Go x40 and x50 models. So in this case they have actually taken away the featur on the same units!

I have asked them several times but never got a decent answer as to whet the problem is.

Basically, if you look in the menu for power saving options and find the one for whether the device auto-switches OFF when power is removed, then the other option for whether it auto-switches ON will be on the same screen, if it's available.
