Go Discover
I frequently tell (voice control) my TT Go Discover to 'close route' once I'm back in a known area and have no need of further directions. This may be many miles from home. Am I right in thinking that on my next journey, when I switch it on, the location arrow defaults to the GPS position where the TT was on my last trip when I told it 'close route'? It's irritating to switch the device on and find the arrow is not at my home address.

When you turn on your GO, the location arrow will show you your current location.

No, I'm sorry but it does not show my current location when I turn it on. That's why I said that I suspect it shows where I was at the moment when I told it to 'close route' on my previous journey. I could test this theory next time I use it but I hardly ever take it with me these days so I thought someone might know the answer in this forum.

If it's gray, it means your GPS is not picking up satellites, so you need to investigate why it's not picking up satellites.

If your GPS is new, you should turn it on and leave it still until the arrow turns blue.

Ok. Thank you for your help. It's appreciated.
When the device is turned on, it must spend a few moments looking for satellites, figuring out which ones it can see, receive signals from them, and calculate a position triangulated from the time it takes the signals from those specific satellites to reach your device. That doesn't happen instantly.

In the meantime, the device has no idea where it really is, and shows you the 'gray' chevron and your last known position. Not until it gets some kind of position fix does the chevron turn blue and your current position appear on the screen with any reliability.
