My 540xxlTM was not working last Thursday (it is now thanks to canderson and dhn) and I had to use google maps on my android Galaxy Nexus for a 2 hour trip from the Hartford, CT area to the Boston area. While I found google to be technically correct/adequate to include routing me off the interstate due to a traffic backup, the cell phone was much more difficult to use. That is, it would turn off or go to sleep or change to different screen within the google navigation. I found myself spending a lot of time (dangerously?) getting back to the "trip" screen.

I'm posting this just to say that, for me, a smart phone will not be replacing a pnd. Now maybe I was not operating the phone nav systems correctly but it was not easy to use.
