Doing route planning on PC with plan.tomtom.com. I've tried importing POI (.ov2) files. File shows up in the My Places POI listing but no POIs are shown anywhere on map no matter which I've selected to show. What am I doing incorrectly?

Thanks :)

What model of GPS do you have?

Don't have a GPS model. Using TomTom GO Expert on smartphone. Once I route plan on PC, I sync with phone

Okay, on the GO Expert smartphone app, it is not possible to add a poi file.

On your computer, the downloaded file is visible, but there are no location icons.

The icons are only visible on older GPS devices.

So what you are saying is that there aren't any downloadable POIs that I can "see" on my computer? And, since I am using the TomTomGo Expert app on my smartphone, no way to get POIs there either?? SO what a, mI paying for?

It has not been possible to add custom POs to the GO Expert application for a very long time.

Therefore, you are not paying for this unavailable option.

Hi @HomerJ99, which smartphone do you use, Android or iPhone?

I use an iPhone. Although you can't display POI icons on the TomTom Go Expert screens, you can use POIViewer, a third-party POI manager, to organise, display, and launch a navigation app (i.e., TomTom) to your required custom POI.

I believe there are similar apps for Android that serve the same purpose, such as Locus Map and POIbase.

One advantage of using a third-party POI manager is that you can maintain a master list in a spreadsheet with any extra information you need. You can then extract the longitude, latitude, and POI name to a .csv file and send that file to the third-party POI manager app on your phone.
