I have had to move to TomTom Go on my phone since the sim in my Go5200 stopped getting live traffic. All is working well given that I should have access the whole map of a lot of Europe. I live in the south of England and only that part of the map is showing on my phone. When I got to the Welsh border, there was nothing showing and I can’t see a way of adding adjacent bits of the map I have access to. I can understand why the whole of the Europe map that is available on my satnav is not downloaded to my phone but I need a bit more than the south of England when I travel more widely.

During on-boarding the app only downloads the map of your region.

Other than GO 5200 you do not need the entire map of Europe to navigate between maps. Just go to Settings > Map & Display > Downloaded maps > Add and download the maps you need.

Thanks for this but when I go to Maps, it tells me I have a map of Europe and it is downloaded. It doesn't give me an option to add the next 'region'. So I can't plot a route from Southampton to Newcastle, say, because it doesn't know where Newcastle is! If this is a 'feature ' of the App on my phone, I am not impressed...

If you tap Europe you see which maps of Europe are installed.

You need to tap Add to download more maps.

Thank you very much for this. It worked exactly as you described. Maybe I should have read the manual!
Over and out.
