Using Offroad Navigator 1.6b2 on a TomTom One v4

I have been trying to get some maps working in Offroad Navigator 1.6b2 but can't get them to display. I have created two map bmp images 320x240 in size and placed them in the offroad\maps directory. I also created a config.map file and placed it in the same folder on my TomTom.

The config.map file contains:

-88.552298 44.302660 -88.504061 44.276244 /offroad/maps/green1.bmp
-88.556450 44.306160 -88.496420 44.273020 /offroad/maps/green2.bmp

When I enter a point into Offroad Navigator that is within the boundaries of these maps, neither map will display.

Any suggestions are appreciated. Thanks!

the filename syntax is wrong, it should be:

-88.552298 44.302660 -88.504061 44.276244 /mnt/sdcard/offroad/maps/green1.bmp
-88.556450 44.306160 -88.496420 44.273020 /mnt/sdcard/offroad/maps/green2.bmp

try that and see if it works.

Excellent - that was it. I didn't include the /mnt/sdcard part in the file reference because I do not have an SD Card installed in my TomTom and thought it would be refering to a card that did not exist. Put it back into the file reference and the map popped right up.

Thanks.

Perfect, glad it worked out.

Question though, I don't use that feature in Offroad Navigator but how did you get the coordinates of the upper left and lower right of the image? Are you just guessing where the co-ordinates through Google Earth (that is what I'm doing)?

I am using the maps from Google website for my bmp images. I crop them down in my photo editing software to the 320x240 size and then go back to the website to get the approximate coordinates for my corners. I wish I had a more exact way of creating the map and coordinates. If anyone knows of one, please share.

Sorry I'm dragging an old thread up, Offroad Navigator has me stumped, and I'm thinking I'm doing something wrong. I'm running Offroad Navigator 1.7b on my Tomtom ONE vers.2. To do it, I've put Navcore 6 on my spare SD card, installed Offroad Navigator on it. i installed it using HOME. When it installed it added the folder /offroad. The only other folder in there is offroad/images. There was no offroad/maps folder. So, I manually edited the drive to add that folder, made a map from googleearth (320x240), saved as a bitmap and made a config.map file. Since I only have one map, the config.map is rather small, but i think I've got it right...

41.555563 -73.870955 41.554643 -73.86926 /mnt/sdcard/offroad/maps/yard.bmp

where yard.bmp is my map.

Offroad Navigator's screen works and all the other screens are fine and work great. Even the altitude is reasonable. But, for the life of me, I cannot figure out how to view the map. Do I have to minimize Offroad Navigator and go somewhere in the usual Tomtom features? I've tried going to browse map, but all I see is my usual Tomtom map.

What am I missing?
