Not updating

I am trying to update my go6100 but the update is down loaded but then mydrive connect just says checking. Then it just keeps going which means my go6100 goes to sleep saying it's because it has not moved for 30 minutes.

If you leave your GO connected to MyDrive Connect and your GO goes to sleep, the update will continue to install on the GO.

I will try doing this but yesterday while using the computer I kept canceling the sleep mode over a period of several hours and it kept checking

I tried doing as you said but when my device went to sleep mydrive connect said "please connect your device"

Normally, your GPS should not go to sleep if your GPS is still connected to your computer's power supply.
Unless your computer's USB port goes to sleep?
Go to System, then Battery Settings, see how it is checked.

This is especially true for notebooks that go into various power saving modes, one of which is to power down any ports when the notebook goes into hibernate or other quiet modes after a period of non-use.

I use a desktop computer which dose not close down so it must be the sat nav which I can't seem to alter the time limit and when it goes to sleep mydrive connect says connect your device.

I have tried all but my satnav still goes to sleep after 30mins and mydrive connect still keeps saying checking or getting ready but for hours does not move from there. Thanks for all your efforts but I shall have to keep going with out map updates.

Do you have the possibility to try with another computer?

In Settings, then System, then Battery Settings
On your GPS, have you looked at the options offered?

I am having the same problem, which did not exist until I installed this new version. As for the verification questions, it took me ages to work out what on earth they meant when asking 'which of these does not have a pair?' A pair of what?

p.s. After reaching a stalemate I decided to click on the Settings icon. I copied the path shown to where the data was stored on my computer and could see a file in 'Content174', which I think was just the system update. But then, after closing the settings I was presented with the update screen again, so I repeated the request and it is now downloading. I have been noticing for years now, that TomTom doesn't seem to have any group of people to check the work of the programmers before releasing it, relying entirely on customers to do all the bug reporting for them.
