no maps and tomtom wont help

Hi all.
Finally I cured the dreaded RED CROSS.
(I had a PC crash while updating tomtom go300.....lost everything)

Anyhoos...Tomtom sent me the link 'upgrade' my tomtom go 300, tomtom is working now, no red cross.
However tomtom said that i would have to purchase NEW MAPS for UK, I argued I had already done so with the purchase of my tomtom (over 2 years ago now) but they are adamant I have to purchase new maps.

So I surf the www for a torrent, find one on P****E B*Y and they are all in winzip files.

I have downloaded these straight to my tomtom go 300 but i STILL get the message NO MAPS FOUNDS.

Any one help me please??

(Yes I KNOW I am NOT supposed to download torrents of maps etc etc, so please dont comment.

Any discussion of warez sites, hacked maps, etc. is not appropriate on this site (see the announcement at the top of every forum) or any other legitimate gps site.

You simply will not get any assistance with how to install stolen maps (for that is what they are) here.

For your original 'no map found' problem, you can try the information here.
