Firstly let me briefly explain, I used to have "Amigo" (blue homescreen icon) on my second cellphone, but sometime overnight a few days ago, it updated by itself to "TomTom" a red icon, so its actually the TomTom App I am having an issue with. The cellphone is mounted in a dashboard holder in my car. The TomTom app and a Voice app are the only app on that phone other than the default Samsung and Android apps. The phone remains mounted and turned on 24/7 and automatically starts charging when the car is started (it only loses a few percent charge overnight). Now, here's the issue.
The phone has a sim card and is connected to my house wifi. I get into the car, start the TomTom app, and drive away. Within a few seconds, I get a white notification dialog in the upper half of the screen.... "No Internet Connection". The app should automatically switch to using Mobile Data when the WiFi connection drops out (and I think it does because I can see TomTom working fine behind the dialog, and I can also open the Samsung Browser and surf the web). Nonetheless, the "No Internet Connection" dialog persists indefinitely and cannot be swiped away. The only way to remove it is to shut down and restart the app out of range of my wifi
I note that if I turn the wifi off before starting the app, the issue never happens. It a workaround, but don't want to be using my mobile data overnight, because that data is expensive (my home wifi is unlimited so I'd rather it be connected to that when I'm home.
I cannot find anything in the App settings to change this behaviour. Any ideas?
