RIDER V2
I have just returned from a weekend ride and have had a very peculiar experience with my TTRV2. As I was riding, I was adding map correction points as I went. I had quite a few marked, everything was working perfectly. I was hearing my navigation direction in my head set. In the city I received and completed a phone call on my cell phone and everything then went bad. I stopped receiving spoken instructions, so stopped and tried to get something in my headset by changing the "voice" but there was nothing there apart from the odd crackle and pop. I rang a friend and had a conversation with them no problem. Also noticed no speed warning beep in my headset either - almost sounded like the headset and TT were not communicating.
When home, I removed the phone and headset from those items that the TT would communicate with and reinstalled them, but no luck from the TT.
I delt with all my map corrections that I had gathered on the ride and backed-up my Rider, then tried the "voice" change again and wouldn't you know it, everything is working fine again.
Maybe the number of corrections had exceeded the capacity of the unit and interfered with something? It certainly shouldn't have been a memory capacity problem, I have a 2Gb card installed and it is mostly empty with just the Australian and New Zealand maps on it - 143Mb used.
Interested to hear anyones suggestions or similar experiences.

I've seen the sound die before, basically some program crash/fault. It was solved by either a power off or a pin reset.

You know the sound is dead if you go to "change voice" and test the voice with no sound.

Thanks mvl.
Nice to know it is not only my unit that has the problem, I wonder how many others have had a similar experience - maybe TomTom should know about this. I will drop them an Email and post their response.

I have just received this reply from TomTom support .... I only hope that it doesn't occur in a remote location without a ready internet service! I am now carrying a spare SD card with my system backed up on it.
