No ASR folder on new 720?

...weird as there is no folder 'ASR' on unit?

Do I need firmware to get my VR goiing?

Just got it; searched here to enable VR, am lost w/o ASR folder?


Have not even installed Home; just did an explorer b-up.

Any help would be most appreciated; I searched "ASR Folder" but no one had a post that indicated the unit was w/o with 7.221 firmware...saw Oleboy's page and his 7.221 zip has it?

What map do you have (I know 710) but is it North_America??

It shouldn't be hidden but ensure you have hidden files/folders showing when you look at it with Explorer. That map version should have an asr folder but some 710 maps. for whatever reason did not.

You can try to call support at 866-486-6866 and explain the situation. They may make a newer map available for you to download.

Thanks; I do have a cert for free map upgrade, but wanted to ask first...

What about wiping it down and using the 7.221 I found from Oleboy?

Can I just add the ASR older instead?

I guess I'm asking whether to get the VR working and then upgrade map, or vice-versa?

Well, you can make an Explorer backup of your unit's contents and then try the version on that site.

I'd be inclined to: a) make the Explorer backup
b) update your application to the newest (8.351)
c) update the map.
