Hi all,

I just got my N1 last week, and still exploring the uses of the phone.

I have 1 question on the GPS function.. If I'm overseas and wish to use the google map for navigation, will there be any data charges on the usage of the navigation tool? From what my friend told me, GPS usage is free, however there will be data charges to you due to the downloading of the map. Is this true?

Btw, I have a local data plan..

That is correct, Google maps uses lots of data, and that cen get expensive when roaming.

The onboard maps are one of the selling points of a Tomtom, especially in Europe as people travel out of the country so often.

Also, moving this thread to non-Tomtom.
