Hi - Hope someone could help me. I just got the XL black edition and as soon as it connected to TomTom home it said new maps available and started the download and installation. This started copying and at about 50% is sat running for over an hour with no obvious progress. I checked the event log and see lots of paging issues when accessing the XL memory. I cancelled and tried again on another totally different machine running a different OS and get the same.

Could someone confirm how long a map load (about 1.1GB) should take on the XL ?

Does anyone else see event viewer messages when accessing the XL internal memory ?

Can i just copy the maps folder that has been downloaded onto the TomTom ?

    Thanks

I appear to have a faulty unit as I started getting these messages during updates.. TomTom will arrange a return when their database is back up.
